Meet Kyle Townes
Hi! Welcome to my website!
My name is Kyle and I’m the wife of a military veteran and mother to five wonderful girls. After spending years in the public school system teaching middle school, I left the profession to classically educate my children at home.
Now that my children are older and I no longer have toddlers running around or babies to care for, I have been able to pick up my pen and write about one of my greatest passions: Christian parenting.
I am very excited to announce that my new book, The Road Less Traveled: Reclaiming Childhood for Christianity, will be released this summer.
During the last few years, I have enjoyed championing children through my writing and public speaking. I encourage parents to see their kids through the lens of their capabilities rather than their perceived limitations. Children are intelligent, capable, and enthusiastic. Now is the best time to establish a strong foundation in faith and Christian virtue.
I want to inspire every parent to take their God-given role to raise their children in the Faith seriously.
Meet Kyle
I’m a writer, prior public school teacher, and mom of 5 wonderful little girls. My girls are 11, 9, 8, 5, and 3. I’ve been blessed to be married to my best friend, Richard, for the last 14 years.
I’m a passionate believer in children’s abilities…. My motto is: “Children Are Capable!” And I want to help every parent know and believe in the abilities of their children. I hope to excite parents everywhere to never underestimate the intelligence, memory, or character growth that their children are capable of. I want them to experience the joy and excitement that following the Lord will create in their children’s hearts. I hope to encourage every parent to take their God given role to daily raise their children up in the faith seriously.

Book List for Kids
This extensive book list is filled with over 300 high quality, vetted books that I personally own and know are good books for young minds. I have put these books into what I believe are increasing difficulty levels to help parents know what to introduce to their kids, and when. These are the books that I consider to be of high enough quality to be counted for literature class, starting from the very earliest beginning readers.
The list ends with a page of suggested “fun reading” books for a variety of ages, and which includes many wonderful series for you to explore with your child. I’ve included extensive footnotes with a variety of information about each book, to assist you in your choices.
